LJR’s Thoughts
Starting a creative journey is hard, especially for children. If your kiddos are anything like mine, they probably have expectations they’ll be professional artists after their first time. Books like Ish are great for giving kiddos some deeply needed perspective about our skills and how others view our creative works.

Considerations for Ish
In our usual LJR fashion, we try to find anything that Christian families may want to know about ahead of time to address, skip, or dig deeper into. Take a look at what we found below. Our take on Discipleship Opportunities is at the bottom of the review.
- Positive Behavior: A character encourages and lifts up another.
- Negative Behavior: none
- Language: none
- Violence/Intense Scenes: none
- Religion/Spirituality: none
- Racism/Discrimination: none
- Romance/Sexuality/Nudity: Ramon is shown sitting on the toilet. Nothing is shown.
Discipleship Opportunities
- Discuss how what we say can impact people and we should “therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
- It can be difficult to work on something when you’re not going to be good at it. Scripture tells us “whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward.” Colossians 3:24
