LJR’s Thoughts for George vs. George
A common saying in Classical Conversations is that we, as parents, are redeeming our education and this book was the first book that showed me just how true this statement was.
Rosalyn Schanzer shows the good, bad, and ugly to both sides of the American Revolution, giving you a different perspective to the war.
After losing our first copy of this book, I just had to get it again to have in our personal library. I highly recommend this for your own homeschool.

Considerations for George vs. George
In our usual LJR fashion, we try to find anything that Christian families may want to know about ahead of time to address, skip, or dig deeper into. Take a look at what we found below. Our take on Discipleship Opportunities is at the bottom of the review.

- Negative Behavior: Characters mistreat each other for having different views, even physical violence.
- Language: none
- Violence/Intense Scenes: depictions of war, some men tar and feather another man
- Religion/Spirituality: none
- Racism/Discrimination: none
- Romance/Sexuality: none
- Substance Usage: none
Discipleship Opportunities
- While history books often depict people as American “heroes,” George vs. George shows the heroic and awful sides to people in war. Start with Romans 3:10 – 12 to discuss with your kiddos how none of us is righteous but be sure to follow it up with letting them know the goodness of God and Christ’s righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:21 is a great place to start for that.
