Blizzard by John Rocco
In the picture book Blizzard, it’s Rhode Island in 1978. Ten-year-old John goes home early because of an impending blizzard. But when day 5 comes and the snowplows are still nowhere in sight. John takes matters into his own hands.
This is his story. Based on true events during the Blizzard of 1978 in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

LJR’s Thoughts for the book Blizzard
Rocco shows a family who obviously loves each other in this tale about a boy who sets out on his own to help his family and neighbors during the Blizzard of 1978 that put many parts of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut under snow. The subtle humor will have your kiddos chuckling. We especially loved the illustrations and fold out pages showing his path to the store.

- Taking care of others (especially family): Galatians 6:10; 1 Timothy 5:8
